Mr. Netherton started small by actually operating equipment and performing other miscellaneous tasks himself. Due to diligence and hard work, he grew the company to 10 crews and over 80 employees. F. J. Burnell, Inc. currently does an average annual volume of approximately $15 million.
Our company specializes in highway construction and site development that includes earthwork, storm drainage, base course, stabilized subgrade and bridge construction as well as concrete paving. We have a reputation for quality work done on time and within budget.
Besides having an extensive fleet of construction equipment, we also have 2 concrete plants - one stationery plant and one portable plant for setup on projects. We recycle concrete with our portable crushing operations.
F. J. Burnell, Inc. was formed in 1992 by Freida Jo “Missy” Burnell and her husband Billy as a construction company that specializes in highway, heavy, civil and municipal construction. Hence, this is where the name F. J. Burnell is derived. Missy and Billy sold the company in 1997 to her brother, Grover W. “Buster” Netherton.
